Atar-Nema how many days

hi

We are planning an expedition from Portugal to Guiné next August.

One of the pists we would like to do is the one form Atar to Nema, passing thru Tidjikja.

We are going with LRs including a SIII. How many days do you think that is necessary to do this?

“Mauritanie au GPS” says: Atar-Tidjikja 4 days (437 kms); Tidjikja-Tichit 3 days (289kms); Tichit-Nema 6 days(563kms) = 13 days (1289 kms). It’s a average of 99 kms per day!!!

From your experience what do you think? can it be done, not rushing, in less days?

Atar - Tidjika can be done in 2-3 days and locals do it in less (drive through night etc), however I would be wary of thinking you can do the whole trip in less than the recommended time allocated. Atar to Nema is a long trip and you risk exhausting yourselves (thereby increasing the odds of an accident)if you push too hard.

Hi Bernardo,

I've done this piste last November.
E-mail me directly, with your questions.

Cheers,
José
