anyone have the IGN "Massif de L'Air" 1:500k map?

i've been looking all over, from Daerr to the Cambridge Map Library to IGN, but I can't seem to find an IGN 1:500K map of Northern Niger called "Massif de l'Air". I've heard this is a real good map to have when traveling to the Air.

Anyone have a digital copy of it, or know where I can buy one?

thanks.

best to contact the source: ign in paris but I have a feeling they're long sold out in europe (on paper) though they were available (in paper) in niamey a couple of years ago (not much help to you probably).

Never heard of it on CD and if it was around I would have thought Darrs made it and sold it.

You'd need (and probably want) a guide in the Air anyway so less detailed maps may do.

thanks, chris. do you have any recommendations for where we can find a good english speaking guide for the Tenere and Air? we had heard great things about Balal from Chiriet Voyages, but unfortunately we have been unable to communicate even via email with him because our French is non-existent and so is his English.

cheers,
tb

I've got a copy of the 1:500 000 Massif de L'Air which I bought at IGN in Niamey, Niger.

The map does have the "IGN France" logo on the front piece (bottom RHS) and
"Institut Geographique National - France" along the bottom. So IGN in Paris might be worth trying.

In my experience reliable English-speaking guides in Agadez are very rare (compared to Libya, for example). You will be at a great disadvantage not speaking French.

(Nim, there is a 61 in Ndj maybe still - ask Camiel, NL - may be useful)
