. Anyone around Nouahddibou ?

Hi all !!

Anyone in or around NDB ,could just confirm me that my LandRover (Zebra-stripped 109 CSW, Series III , Spanish) is still in "Camping-Baie-Levrier"(NDB) ?

I left the landy there in the camping for a few months , I plan to fly back in March to resume the trip , but now I Can't contact the Camping Manager .

I just need a confirmation that my car (and the camping !) is still there

THANKS A LOT ! .
Javier.

Thanks a lot for that reassuring information !!

I have received a few emails asking me about the price and/or Douanne-customs issues of leaving the car there.

Well , Ali (the campsite Manager) has a price of 300 euros for both the 3-month car-stay and the Custom/Douanne passport Clearing , and the re-issue upon my return of the LaizzePAsse.

Dont know how he managed to clear the passport , but the fact is that I was driven from the camping to the airport-tarmac in a quite dodgy taxi(!) , and given back my passport just upon entry on the airplane (i.e. didnt stamp-out my passport , nor even customs/police check/ nothing !!! Bribbery at its best !

He says is kind of routine.

Every extra month after these 3 months was around 50 euros apiece. Definitely not cheap at all , but (as my employer insisted on paying all the expenses necessary to get me back in UK asap -sudden IT backup dissaster - I didnt barter/negotiate down the price at all.

The good thing on all this , is that in a few months , I start -from day 0 - in the middle of the desert in Mauritania !!! , not the long boring drive France/Spain/Morocco.

Have a nice day .

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
