I'm guessing you mean 'border' as above.

Like so many things in Africa, everything is possible subject to change.

Look at the distance between Rabat (where most get their visas) and the Mauritanian border - (roughly speaking 2000 Kms then multiply by 2 to work out the distance you will have to ride/drive if something has changed (again!) - so 4,000 Kms!

Is the risk not to take your visa in Rabat (on the way) worth the mileage/costs/delays ? only you can decide.

Yes - I know all about that - the question was not "should I risk it?" - the question was "has anyone heard anything?". Spending two nights in Rabat is not my idea of a good use of time.

understood- sorry Roger-
I'd prefer 2 nights in Rabat chilling out and enjoying a good Tagine aux Pruneaux rather than risk another £200 or so on fuel & 4000 kms of extra wear and tear in case some bureaucrat decides not to issue the visa at the border-again- the odds are not good and the time wasted on having to go back to Rabat AND spend another 2 days there anyway... and if you happen to get to the embassy in Rabat on a Friday, chances are that your visa will not be ready until the following Monday.
As the French say " a chacun son truc" !
