Algiers and Djanet
Advice please. I've got an invitation from an Algerian family to join a wedding in Algiers followed by a flight to Djanet for a four / five day hike to all the cave paintings. I've got the official papers sorted.
If you were me... would you go given the security issues and the fact that the FO says... Don;t do it ! Anybody been over recently ? I could do with some up to date information if anybody has any. thanks, Nomiskx |

I'd definitely go.
I've flown into Algiers a few times and also flown into Algiers followed by a flight to Djanet. From the perspective of bandits/kidnappings etc flying is probably even safer than driving and the risk of something happening when driving down to Djanet are very very low now anyway. I'm far more scared in Joburg. |
