Accomodation near Casa airport

Hi,

Can you recommend a cheap hotel near Casa airport?
I will arrive c.a. 10 PM and do not want to go into the city and the next morning go out. I will follow N11 south, looking at the map I can see two possible towns - Berrechid and a bit further Khourigba, but can't google-out anything.

Best regards,

The Atlas Hotel is close but expensive and with a terrible reputation.

I prefer to stay at the Ibis at Casa Voyagers station but I don't think there won't be trains running from the airport at that time of night and a grand taxi will cost you 300-350dh. Getting back out again the next morning by train will cost about 40dh.

You won't be impressed with the N11 as it passes through the 'Triangle of Death' (this is what the locals call the Phosphates Plateau).

Thanks Tim, I have traced the Atlas hotel in Google Earth, but I am looking for cheaper alternatives.
I will collect the car at the airport that night, my next waypoint is Cascades de Ouzoud so the shortest way seems to be N11 (if there are better roads going there straight from the airport, please let me know).

Cheers!

If you are relatively new to driving in Morocco it might make sense to take the motorway initially so you can relax. It runs right past the airport all the way to Marrakech. Come off at Ben Guerir and take the R206 to El-Kelaa-des-Sraghna.

My wife and I stayed at the Atlas on our way through Casa a few days ago - it was fine. Admittedly we didn't pay for it as Royal Air Maroc put us up for the night as they messed our onward flight up, but it was perfectly acceptable as standards go.

You got a good room then! I've stayed there several times courtesy of Royal Air Babouche ... had some good, some bad ... the prices are outrageous for Morocco if you don't stick to their food/drink coupons!

Possibly better in summer when the pool's useable!!

But I have to say for an airline like RAM they provide a good service, my transit is usually 6-7hrs & they always agree to put me up there, even during the day!
