60 Series Cruisers?????
Hi

Sometimes I think about selling my 61 and getting something newer. But apart froim the fact that I'm still paying for it and re-equipping another car would cost a packet, there is nothing else out there that compares for desert driving, IMHO. Newer 80s and 75s are more juicy and some say the 80s are less reliable. Half the 4x4s in Djanet and most of the tours cars out of Agadez are 60s...
Apart from the usual pitfalls on any used 4x4 - chiefly rust, you want to change the standard leaf springs which will be utterly flat by now - OME is best if you can afford it. theres more on 60s in the book. Go for a turbo 61/62 if you can. Chris S |
