Ukraine - Russia - Georgia
I have done a pretty long write up about our route from Port Kerch in Ukraine to Kazbegi in Georgia, going via Russia. This is a relatively new route as the Russia - Georgia border has not been open for very long.
We had the usual bit of hassle with police as we got closer to North Ossetia, but nothing too tricky. The border crossings were long but without any particular problems. We are German passport holders driving a UAE registered car. The full report is here: Special report!
