Turkey speed limit

In Turkey the speed limit for bikes is lower than for cars. A Turkish friend writes:

In the traffic law it's said to be 70kph(44mph) the limit for the bikes but in practise it is never ever that way. The only thing you have to do is to obey the speed limits of the cars which is also shown by signs beside the road. I can even bet that more than 90% of the police thinks that the cars and the bikes have the same limits and the rest of them (%10)who knows the right limits will also tolerate if you dont exceed the car limit.. So in practise it is 90kph(56mph)..
I have read a traveller's story who reported having been given a ticket doing over 70. Take it easy when you see cops.

Salut from Southern France, the bikers' paradise,
