Hi CBI,
Turkey has excellent touring.
Steeped in history, with wonderful friendly people.
In Sept-Oct(getting cooler)I would recommend Istanbul then southeast to K-Maras or Gaziantep, then return up the Med coast to Istanbul.
Some scenic highlights are,Istanbul, Cappadoccia, Nemrut-Dagi, Ephesus.
Also check out OMM Riders, they are based in Turkey. Enjoy the Trip...

Check out the "Scenic Roads: Turkey-Syria-Jordan" topic as well as many others in Middle East section of HUBB.

I may be of help regarding good motorcycling routes by Aegean coast and on western Turkey.

September october is no problem regarding the weather. June - July -August season is much more troublesome because of high temperature, unless you prefer high attitudes which is another attraction of the country.

Best wishes
