The road is pretty good although heavily damaged in parts and others are newly paved. The Guyanas roads are reported good. I am staying in a friendĀ“s house in Vz who just took a boat from Belem north (not to Manaus) and the traveled through Suriname and the Guyanas back to Brasil and Venezuela. His website is at Rodando Sin Limites (spanish). If you have any specific questions I can ask him for you.

Thanks for the reply,
I am interested to know is he had any problem with passing the bike at the border of Guyana, French Guyana.
Here is basic idea of the road we may want to do.
Manaus > Georgetown>Cayenne> belem>Manaus
we are interested to explore off road so bad road condition shouldn't be a problem.

No hassles getting the bike through customs, but check to see if you need a visa for Suriname (I did).

The southern half the road from Lethem to Georgetown will be a nightmare in the wet season, I got stuck for 2 weeks as a large section was flooded & even the 4x4 trucks couldnt get through.

We plan to ride from manaus to Venezuala across the amazon>french Guyana back to brasil following the cost.
1)what is the best season for the ride ( I read plenty of post and info and it 's not really clear)
2) what is the quality of the gas in this part of the world ( I will be riding my XR650R)
3)any map available for the off road part .?
