Summer Trip through Europe Sweden and maybe Russia...ADVICE!!!

Ok this will be my first big trip planning for summer of 2011 but here's the thing have read a bit about how to do it planning paperwork etc and places to go, but just wanted to know if people have been to these places and where to go what to do etc.

Here is the ruff plan:
Milton keynes to dover over to france, belgium, netherlands, germany (north), Denmark, sweden, finland,
then here is the maybe either over to Russia st petersburg, moscow then back through europe (which way?)
or pretty much back the way we came.

Should say will be doing this on a suzuki bandit so its not going to like some roads.

Thanks in advance

Tris

If you stay in the EU you don't really need to plan anything. Russia requires a visa obtained in advance.

Another option if you didn't want to go to Russia is the ferry from Helsinki to Talin, which would allow you to do a circular route but staying in the EU.

Denmark is often cited as the most boring country in Europe (it competes against Belgium for this honour). There is nothing exciting about Sweden scenically till you get into the North, along the border with Norway. All the Scandanavian towns and cities I've been in seemed very 'pleasant' but not very exciting, so I'm not sure how much sightseeing you'd want to do outside of the capitals.

IF you get into Russia (great if you can) I'd come back via Estonia (great motorcycling community) Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Germany etc. Great people, fascinating scenery, stay off the motorways (what little there are) and watch out for the road surfaces (especially in Poland), do your homework for places like Tallin, Riga, Vilnius etc. and watch out for the Wolfs Lair in northern Poland (Hitlers War Bunkers) and the Zeppelin Sheds in Riga, fascinating.

Have fun, take care, ride safe, don't get competitive (you'll eventually lose), but have enormous fun.

Getting out of Milton Keynes will be the hardest job. Those bloody roundabouts all looked the same to me.
