Snow in Alps
When in the fall does it begin to snow in the western Alps?
When do the passes start to close? |

Depends on the altitude and the region. The Sea Alps in the SW are generally drier, so passes often stay open longer.
Some passes are only open Jul - Sept, some lower ones hardly ever close. It snowed last week here and even in the SW all the high passes are still closed. Generally speaking it's not that much fun after September in the Alps. ------------------ Salut from Southern France, the bikers' paradise, Peter. |
