Scotland To Egypt
 

next year i am planning to ride to egypt from my home in scotland . but the question is.. what is the best route to take ? . as i see it, i can go two way,s . across europe to turkey , then syria,jordan,saudi arabia , get the ferry from aquaba to egypt . or down through italy, then ferry to tunisia ,libya, and into egypt . the only problem i can possibly see is libya . there seem to be many conflicting opinions about getting into libya on a solo motorcycle , some say it can be done, and some say it,s impossible . has anyone managed to go from tunisia through libya and into egypt ? .

Hi, yes you can go either way, look up landy girl. You do not need to go to Saudi and they won't let you in anyway (So much for Muslims helping travellers!) Do the round trip, but watch the timing or you will cross Libya in a sand storm.

certainly do it as a round trip, the pyramids of course, and petra in Jordan and Ephesus in turkey..
