russia to alaska,please help
 

Hi there!

I'm planing a trip around the world,
the plans are prety ruf,for now,
but the sure thing is I'll be going from Russia to Alaska,I would like to go on a bike much as posibile,crossing on a fery would be nice,but as I heard,there is no one!there's not even a road up to russian far east,as I heard the far the road goes is to Magadan.
I havent got a detail map of the area yet,but people tell me there are no roads!?
I wonder how is that posibile.
I have done some research on the Chukci Area and thay say that are NO ROADS in area,except the some local gravel roads conecting the mine sites in the in land with sea port cityes.Map says there is enough towns,but no roads,thay just drive the delivery trucks(for food to in-land)as thay like trough a fields(or what ever)and in winter through the snow(so i'v readed in some articles)

On the Alaska side is almost the same thing,almost nothing till Ancorage or Fairbanks,
the only road to a remote area is a Dalton highway to Deadhorse(probebly bilt for no particular reason,as the one in Canada(NWT)to Inuvik.(some gay told me that)
Why thay did'nt bild a road to Bering for the same reason????!!!

Enyway,if the sitation is realy like this,may be i'll go of road,through the mountains(but then how would i cross the big rivers,...damn road)it's "only" 200 to 400kms between the towns in the area with no roads,so a town to town in a day would be posibile,and when i get to Providenja or Uelen,i would cros to Wales on a small boat(I heard that people thare cross the strate with a small boats,thay have fishing boats,right,thay would starve if thay dont)

As for the bike I will rideing,maybe a BMW F650GS or Suzuki V-strom(it has biger cases as a optional)
What do u think of a Yamaha TDM or Aprilia Pegaso 650

If you use the search engine from this website and you search for Magadan, you will find some info.

As far as I know, Magadan-Anchorage is the only possibillity to cross the Beringstr.

It will cost you $5,50/kg (Magadan-air)

I've heard that the russian side off the Beringstr. is a millitairy area.
