Route plan
 

Hi folks
Loose plan is UK to Morocco then Rabat, Essaoura, TanTan Plage (any accommodation here?) Laayoune, Dakhla, Nouadhibou, Nouakchott, St Louis, Toubakouta, Sanyang (where we will hopefully base ourselves for a month or so).

It looks all straight forward, follow the coast, easy days riding with a bit of time to have a wander around each town we stay in. Am I sortof correct or am I dreaming.

Do the learned have any suggestions as to good budget to midrange places to stay, Lonely Planet mention a good range but no mention on Tan Tan Plage.

Also has anyone been to Park National Du Niokolo-Koba national park (Senegal). Lonely Planet says there are lions etc there so maybe not a good place to visit on the bike but the thought of seeing elephants in the wild makes it extremely tempting.

I've been as far as Sénégal. South of El Ouartia (Tan Tan Plage) you have little choice but to follow the coastal road, but there are more interesting routes through the Middle Atlas, High Atlas and Anti Atlas ather than following the coastline from Rabat.

Motel Barbas is the last fuel/hotel stop in Morocco about 80km north of the Mauri border at N22 03.271 W16 44.836

Many people stop in Noakchott at Auberge Sahara which is a bit uncared for but otherwise safe.

Hotel de la Poste in Saint Louis is a fun place for a couple of nights. Then there's the Zebrabar a few miles south if you would rather chill out with other travellers. Avoid Dakar, it's one massive gridlock.

You're not allowed in the wildlife parks on a moto (and I don't think it's because you would frighten the animals!) so you need to team up with some friendly cage drivers to visit.

The trip down to Gambia is basically get there as quick as practical, on the return though anything is possible. I will have no time frame other than visa restrictions if any.
How do you get on for secure bike parking at the the overnight stops?
