Repercussions for travellers if Syria is bombed !!!

As someone who is planning on riding east in the spring, what could be the potential repercussions of an attack on Syria ?? Will Iran shut shop to Brits ? Will China and Russia also start refusing British visas as they oppose all action and have threatened reprisals...

Worrying !!!

Do you want to promote your blog, or to really discuss the impact of a the situation?

Sorry, that was my thought as you names you adress additional to your signature

I guess that it not have an impact to us travellers, also when US, GB and France starts a war to Syria - when you just think about russia.

It will be a "war", because there is no UN decision about syria.

It is an indipendent country, who gets attacked. The "war" reasons stinks like they did for the Irak-War...

Anyway - i think the probability of an escalation with russia is small, therefore you shoulnt worry for your travels.

If you want to travel through the iran - yes - you probably should hurry... Or to have a second option for going east.

If Russia would do a official Press-Release and telling there that they would attack Saudi Arabia when the US and Allies attacks Syria - the situation would calm down

Therefore that linked News-Source seems to feed some rumors - as to bring really some news.

It would be fine if China or Russio would insists there..

In this times you have to have nuclear weapons to be safe (like north korea). Next station will be the iran, when nothing happens.

Iran has already shut shop for Brits. Hasn't each other's ambassadors been thrown out?

Ok, it was November 2011: BBC News - UK to expel all Iranian diplomats over embassy attack

and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iran%E2...gdom_relations

Might be worth checking if any Brits have received an Iran visa in the past 18 months.

In light of the current Syria situation, things won't be getting better, any time soon.

I'm an American with an Iranian visa obtained through a travel company one week ago. I'd have to pay for a guide like China. Is expect they'd extend the same hospitality to UK citizens.

Brits can still obtain a visa, just need to do so somewhere outside the UK, e.g. Dublin, Pars, Burssels.

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
