Please Give Advice On RTW Route

I've been planning this trip for a while now. My general route is pretty definite, but not as detailed as I'd like it to be.

The trip has been broken down into two parts. The first part will take my girlfriend and I from Canada to Portugal. We are planning on staying in Portugal for 6-8 months during the winter (2012), then heading north through and across Europe, into Russia, down to Iran, across to Pakistan and India. Form there, things get uncertain, but we still have time to plan that part.

Here is a rough version of the first part of our trip.

If you can give advice (better side-roads, points of interest worth seeing, etc.) on any small part of the world along our route that you are familiar with, that would be awesome.

Sweet. That route looks quite similar to the first part of our route. We're going to have top spend some time on that site.

Here's my proposed timeline. It's really a rough estimate, so I am hoping to get some feedback from those who have done similar trips as to whether or not we're allowing enough time (or rushing it). I am almost thinking of pushing the trip ahead an extra month to give us a bit more time. We don't want to have to rush.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
