Place to stop for a day/night in London?

Me and my lady traveling companion are currently outside of Oxford but want to head into London tomorrow and check out the city for a day or so as we head into down towards Spain. Is there a good bike friendly hostel or Simone that won't mind sharing some garage space:mchappy: we're a couple Kentucky folks and I know big cities can be difficult on a bike sometimes!

I can't recommend anywhere I'm afraid, but if you take the bike make sure you lock it up well. London is a nightmare for bike thefts at the moment, you might be better travelling in by train?

For the sake of a day trip I would also recommend taking the train into the city from the area of Oxford.
National Rail Enquiries - Station facilities for Oxford

But, if you really must ride there, and stay overnight, then I have stayed in the Premier Inn at Ealing in the past:-
Premier Inn | Book Hotels in the UK and Ireland
It has secure parking, at the back of the premises, for which the charge was about £5 per night nearly two years ago.

Even then, the underground into the city from Ealing would take you the thick end of an hour each way, whereas the train between Oxford and London will take a very similar time.

Ok thanks guys!

What a pity. I live just outside Oxford and you'd have been welcome to leave your bike at my place but at the moment I'm in ....... Kentucky (in some cheap hotel). I'm back in a couple of weeks but I suppose you'll be on your way south by then.

Oh wow, what part of Kentucky you pass through? Thanks though just ride into France.

Nothing too exciting I'm afraid and I'm sure I didn't see the best of Kentucky as we were just passing through - mainly on I64 - on our way back to New Jersey. The hotel was near Louisville.

Where are you headed in France?

Nuttynick 12 Oct 2015 12:11

If you have any problems in France message me. Although I live in the UK I work in France and am there pretty often ;-)

Sorry haven't check back in a while, just ride through France, in the south of Spain now where we finally found warm weather!
