Piraeus to Turkey ferries?

Hello all
At the end of July I want to take a ferry from Piraeus, in Greece, to Turkey. I am on a BMW RT. I would like to go to the island of Chios, then catch another ferry from Chios to Cesme, which is mainland Turkey.
Anyone know if this ferry still runs, or have done it recently?
Any other suggestions for getting from mainland Greece, to Mainland Turkey welcome.
Thanks in anticipation.
Tony

Ferry to Chios

I did the reverse of that a year ago, Cesme - Chios - Piraeus, ferry was running then, should be running still, look at

Ferries to Greece and Greek islands Online booking system. All Greek Ferries routes from/to Italy, Greece, Cyprus, Turkey, Israel, Egypt and Greek islands. Ferries in Greece. Sea Travel Ferries to Greek islands. Greek Ferries / Boat / Ship Schedules

Can book and pay online, very easy.

My route out to Turkey was Piraeus - Kos - Bodrum, also worked very well.

If you want some kip, get a cabin, the seats are uncomfortable (well for me anyway at 6'5") and noisy with people moving around all night.

Have fun!

Hi , there are daily ships from piraeus to chios island. I think two during summer period. One early in the morning and one in the afternoon. The ship to cesme leaves at 8 in the moning and takes about 45min-1hour. Last year it was the only possible cross for passengers and moto-cars between greece-turkey. From the other islands, are only for passengers. You don't have to book in advance for the ferries. The afternoon ship from pireaus arrives at chios about 3-4 at the night so you can wait few hours and catch the other one. In my opinion if you want to go north better ride from the mainland. If you want to go south take the ferry. The best part for me is from cesme down coast up to Kas. Really beautiful with great beaches. Ride safe

I did that trip last summer. Travelled from Athens to Chois on Anek lines and then took a small ferry in the morning from the island to Turkey. Found it quite easy and you don't need to sort it from here there is plenty of booking places around the harbour in Chois and Athens.

Have a read of my blog and if you have any further questions sent me a PM.

Happy riding and watch out the stray dogs that chase bikes in Greece and Turkey.
