Pakistan Transit Visa from Iran to India

Anyone know if its possible? I've been to the Embassy in Athens today and the guy said he couldn't issue one but that I "maybe definitely" could get one at the border. His other advice was to check with the Embassy in Iran.

I really don't want to get to the Iran/Pakistan border and have to turn around. The other option to Dubai then flying the bike is very expensive.

That was my next point of call but I fear I'll get the same answer as the Athens embassy. :thumbup1:

Cheers for the info, saved me a search.

Is there such a thing as a Pakistan transit visa? I've never heard of one. To the best of my knowledge, you cannot apply for a Pakistan visa anywhere other than your home country, unless you can prove residency in the country in which you are applying. My advice to anyone planning an overland trip, is to arrange all your visas before setting off !!

Uselessbaba is completely right.

I meet several people hoping to get their Pakistan visas in Iran and India. But you cannot! Well in India only if you are lucky and have the time to kill.
Its much faster and easier to send your passport home to obtain it or get it before you leave home.

There is no such thing as a transit visa! Why would you want one anyway. The best part of Pakistan is the North.

You can't get a Pak visa in India, end of !
There is an Indian transit visa, which is valid for 3 days, maybe that's causing confusion. Completely agree about northern areas, you don't meet many people on the road in Pak, but nearly all of them just seem hell bent on getting out as fast as poss.,what a waste, north-west Pakistan is stunning and one of my favourite places. I can't understand why people are in such a hurry to reach the murderous roads of India !

I mean a Pakistan transit visa in Iran (Tehran). The embassy says I can with an LOI.

Last time I was there you could get visas at Sost coming over the Karakoram from China (although we got ours in UK, as suggested).

Never heard of a transit visa either - could there be confusion with the escorted transit from Taftan to Lahore you get these days?

Sorry guys but you are completley wrong, me and the Mrs got our Pak visas for our return trip to the UK from the embassy in New Delhi, very straightforward and only took an hour and no luck involved!

Cheers
Pete

First of all: I don´t have up to date info.

Crossed that border 8 years ago, and had the visa already sorted before leaving. But it was my understanding, that at least back then, no visas were issued at the border. Could it possibly be different now? Yes, it could. But I would still advice to find out about this very carefully. Iran is a big country, and the journey to the Pakistani border is a strenuous one with the slow going police escorts and all... and a long, long way back to Tehran, for example, if visa at the border wasn´t working like was assumed.

from my experience the key issue for the pakistan visa is the invitation which pakistan travel agencies mail you for quite a moderate price. then you apply to the embassy and in case you leave a positive impression (or at least do not show that you are dangerous person or so) of your person the is no problem at all. this is my experience in moscow, russia, sep. 2015. only the invitation copy together with a travel agency license copy, carnet de passage copy (i do not know if needed or not, but i have it), 3 photos and to fill a form with a hotel name where i intended to stay (but not a confirmed booking)
in other words, they look not papers but a person most

so we skipped pakistan and india. the indian visa proceder is a real mess, we tried in baku, waited 4 weeks and now, 7 weeks later it isen't ready.....
pakis would only give visas if we had the indian one....
so we move to dubai and fly to thayland. :funmeterno:
