Pakistan border closed recently according to persiiatours in Iran?

Just been trying to sort out my Iran visa through Persia tours (recommended through here). And they have informed me I will need to get my Pakistan visa first as in there own reasons they believe the pakistan borders to be closed for over land on bike/car etc due to security reasons, does anybody know if this is correct? Hope not as I'm planning on riding my vstorm back to England from Adelaide in oz, and I can't afford the crazy prices to go through china. Any help from someone in the know of recent things with this would be much appreciated!

Im leaving tomorrow and heading in that direction from Brisbane. It was my understanding you had to enter China through Pakistan anyway. So I hope the border at Lahore is not shut to us. Will follow with interest

Hi. I heard that same thing before arranging my pak visa in 2012 . I was using another agency for iran but Travcour told me they had a overland group denied visas. I applied on my own and said I was flying in and flying out. If you get the visa by the time you get to the land border they wont deny you. Bare in mind they may ask for proof of flights when you apply for the visa. Airlines should be able to give you reservations for free. But I would get some upto date info on crossings.

Also if you dont want to do china how are you planning on getting to mainland asia? As I was approaching tibet. It closed off and my tour group was cancelled. I shipped from Mumbai to bangkok. Burma then was still out of the question then, I know it loosens up everyday but still thought it was out... Anyone know different?

Getting back to the original topic...

No, the border is not closed.

Don't tell either Iran or Pakistan that you wish to go overland through Baluchistan when applying for your visa. Be a standard fly-in fly-out tourist.
