Would appreciate if anyone could recommend a few routes/places to stay/things to do etc ?

I was in Normandy last summer, it was awesome. Frankly, I don't remember where I was, I was following my friend who had set his GPS on "shortest route" and it took us down a bunch of tiny, tiny country roads, into little villages, etc. It was cool, have fun.

well il be using the GPS system used by special forces, it cost me a fortune but totally worth it, €7.50 michellin map of normandy!!!

from what i've read the D roads are the ones to use. no traffic and takes you through the small villages etc as you said.

really looking forward to it.

If you're interested there's a VERY good municipal campsite at Arromanche that we've used a couple of time, easy walk to all the sites, restaurants, bars, Museum, Mulberry Harbour etc. and, on 6th June, there is the D-Day commemorations, well worth the trip and to be able to say thankyou to the fast dwindling number of veterans is a privilege. There is also an English run B&B that is biker friendly in Arromanche. Find the Tourist Office and ask. Normandy generally is nice, if (again) you are interested the Bayeux Tapestry is worth a look and the coastal areas are stunning. Just ride and enjoy.
