'Must ride' roads in Bavaria and Czech Republic?

Hi guys, I'm off on tour next month and amongst other places will be travelling (via the Stelvio woohoo) through Bavarian Germany and the western Czech Republic, back to the UK. I'm sure there are a few 'must ride' roads....any recommendations very gratefully received, please, cos when I passed through the Black Forest last year I got it completely wrong and it was RUBBISH and I managed to have a whole tantrum all by myself! Don't want to make that mistake again. Thanks very much in anticipation

Buy the michelin map for the area - There is a large green Nat park area between Passau / Plzen / Cesky Krumlov / Vseruby . Any of the little yellow roads within that are great . You could spend a couple of days whizzing round them and not get bored . Generally you want to be on the german side of the border for riding and then stay on the czech side as its cheaper - nice pension in vseruby by a carp lake for £10 a night . I come past this area alot and always try to detour slightly to take in some of the roads , which are generally pretty empty .
Feel free to text me on 07825104350 and i will get my map out as this is all off the top of my head

Hi Chris. Hey, that's great. Thanks. I have a Marco Polo map of Czech Republic and the Michelin one for German, and between them I can pretty much see the area that you mean.

I now only have two days to tour from Innsbruck to Prague, so will be passing through rather than touring around the area. It's not a great distance I know but I prefer to stay away from main roads. I have a rendezvous I want to make in Prague with friends who are in town for one night (I know..tough life...) so it's limited my time a bit. I really wanted to get to know Bavaria better but I ain't complaining!

Have house guests at the mo so time a bit limited: if I get chance before I leave on the 8th I'll take you up on your offer to text with maps to hand.

Thanks again

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
