Montana Wyoming and the Dakotas july 18th to aug 4

Hey Kids!

A buddy and I are heading out west in a week and a half. Travelling through North Dakota, to Montana, Wyoming and back through South Dakota with a little side bar to see the people at KLiM in Idaho.

Our approximate plan is to leave Ottawa on Friday July 18th at the Zero-dark-thirty and haul ass across Ontario on the first day. Crossing into the US at Sault St Marie. We are ambitiously planning on being across Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota, and North Dakota in the next two days. Putting us theoretically into Montana on the 21st.

Once into Montana things should slow down a bit. We want to swing up to Glacier National Park, then down to Yellow Stone, and over to Badlands. While hitting up the local hidden gems along the way, like Killpecker dunes in south western Wyoming.

So; If anyone has any suggestions for those cant miss sights, awesome tucked away stealth camping spots, or the worlds biggest 'whatever' (I'm a sucker for cheesy tourist traps) let me know so I can add them as way points into my GPS.

We are always up for a little off-road adventure. So if anyone is local to the general area(s) and wants to meetup for a ride let me know and we can make some plans.

Thanks!!!!

NB: GPS coordinates are welcome and good Karma!

Don't miss the Bear Tooth Highway. Cody Wyoming if you're into the old west has some cool museums and a lot of old west culture. Yellowstone and the roads in and out are beautiful. The Big Horn mountains in Wyoming are also awesome. Enjoy. Seems that my response might be a little late to get to you. Don't miss the Bear Tooth Highway!!!!!

Last year I did a road trip from BC through Montana and Wyoming to Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse Monument, and the Blackhill area.

I thought the highlight of the journey was a side trip to Devils Tower (the mountain in Close Encounters); I camped there for a couple of nights and did some hiking on the trails. I thought this site was terrific.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
