There are loads of camps all well signposted, but if you drop out the mountains each night on the French side most large villages have a municipal site which are the cheapest plus you can pick up cheaper food at the super markets. Some are even unattended, you just pitch up and you get a dull knock on your tent later or in the morning for payment.

The spanish pyrenees & the french alps have some of the most beautiful & best places for wild camping and are free!

But for campsites, look up Ulrich's camping POI's

Thank you Sir!
but thank Ulrich! he's put it a fair day's work in all those!
BTW, if you use a GPS that can have CUSTOM POI's, I can send you the camping files for France and Spain in a special format that POI Loader (free from Garmin site) can use- This will give you the added benefit of freeing your unit's POI memory for route waypoints/and /or wayPOInts you take on the way. email me if need be.

Hi Bertrand!

Can you send me the POI file for the camping in France and Spain?

Going to cross the Pyrenees from West to East using a 'high' route through Spain and then back West using a lower route.
The Poi's of the camp sites could become handy

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
