Light at the end of the tunnel

Hi people,

I am relatively new to the site although been watching from the outskirts for some time now. Having been head down and blinkered working non stop for the last few years I have recently been told my services are no longer required. I have a couple of tentative offers for work from that date but also have a GSA in the garage gathering dust along with many dreams. So here is my point, this is the turning point and my opportunity to do something about that. Now, I'm not ready to join Dan Walsh and head off forever but am thinking of heading out from September until Christmas. It will be a two up trip but looking for advice on destination, mainly from a temperature and budget point of view. Thinking through France then follow the coast all the way down to southern Italy but never having travelled any of these areas in autumn winter would love some advice. Thanks in advance to anybody who has the time and energy to respond, whether relevant or not !!! Cheers
Andy

Well, I can certainly take the time, but I think your question is phrased too widely; for instance you could travel France and Italy in about a week or even less, or take your whole 4 months to do the same distance - my point is that no one knows what your interests are; basically what do you want to achieve with this proposed trip.
So far your motivation is based on the fact that you have a GSA that needs to be exercised and you may/probably have 4 months available.

Once you get into Italy/Sicily you could keep going and take a ferry to Tunisia, for instance.
Why not take a dip into the Morocco forum; that would be a good place to be at that time of year, cheap for accommodation (much better value than Europe, especially over 4 months) and it is much bigger than Tunisia!!

Just a couple of cents, or less.

:welcome: here by the way - a first post!
