Libya to Sudan by 4x4 - Is this possibhle??
 

Can anyone please give some information on this possible route as the cost of the carnet for entering Egypt is quite excessive.

I's stick to Egypt, it's not that expensive. There is no recognised route between Libya and Sudan plus it is illegal for tourists to exit this way (a mate - very experiencec desert driver - got caught last year and was lucky not to lose his car) although smuggling lorries go from south of Kufra to El Atrun.
Why not go Alg, Niger Chad, Sudan.

We have recently ordered you book which should be of great help, so thanks for the advise.

It looks as if we will try the Egyptian route then for a few cold ones on the roof overlooking the Pyramids.

Is the ferry the best way of travelling over from Egypt into Sudan then??
