Libya to Sudan
 

Hi,

My fiance Galina and I are going to travel overland from London to Cape Town in a Land Rover starting in November of this year.

We want to bypass Egypt by travelling directly from Libya to Sudan via Jebel Uweinat. Does any one have any useful advice or info? Does anyone know of anyone else who would like to go too in another vehicle?

When I was in Libya in March 2000 it was illegal to cross the border there (on the Libyan side). A fellow biker made it, though, all by himself within a few days. So it's possible somehow.

James, I just found this post while searching the board and was curious at what you ended up doing! I’m asking since the Uweinat crossing is not that easy. In fact it require a lot of preparation and could not be done on a single bike. We’re talking at least 1500 km totally on you own.

Kird, about this biker who made it on his own, do you know which route he took?
