laredo tex to panama
 
looking to take a ride from pa to mexico down to the end of the road at the darrian gap,panama and back again....have no idea how long i should budget time wise for this,whether it be a straight down and back or a slower cruise.....is going the pan american highway a viable choice......i will be riding a new vulcan 900 or a honda vt 1000.....all imput welcome.....les

Depending on the route, of course......it's about 3200 miles from Laredo to Yaviza.
Mexico roads would allow 600 mile days, if that's what you wanted.
I'd halve that for Central America with the border crossings, congestion in areas, and poorer roads.

Both those numbers are pretty ambitious.
