Kenya to South Africa on Royal Enfields

We are a group of friends (3 of us), planning a journey from Kenya to South Africa on our Royal Enfield motorcycles coinciding with the Soccer World Cup 2010 in South Africa. We will be traversing through 6 countries viz Kenya, Tanzania, Malawi, Zambia, Zimbabwe and South Africa respectively. Our rough itinerary is as follows – start from Mombasa (Kenya) – Arusha, Kondoe Irangi, Dodoma, Iringa, Mbeya (Tanzania), Mzuzu, Lilongwe (Malawi), Chipata, Lusaka, Livingstone (Zambia), Bulawayo (Zimbabwe), Polokwane, Johannesburg, Durban, Cape Town (South Africa). Can anyone suggest some experiences, share any do’s and don’ts. Many thanks
Rajesh,
India

Good luck, I'll be watching England win the World Cup on TV!

Thanks guys for the wishes, Regret the delay in posting as was busy after coming back from Africa. Well about our journey - whatever could go wrong did go wrong!!!! The ship carrying our bikes got stranded on the high seas and there was a huge backlog at the Mombasa port which resulted in we losing 3 weeks before our RE's got unloaded.
So, we shifted to plan B ie we flew to SA first for the World cup, lucky to witness the best match of the WC - Brasil vs Holland @ PE and then Spain vs Paraguay @ Johannesburg, then flew back to Kenya.
Picked our RE's from Mombasa. Traveled Mombasa - Voi - Taveta - Moshi - Arusha - Ngorongoro - Machame - Tanga - Mombasa on our RE's. After doing Mombasa - Voi - Taveta on a motorcycle we can definitely vouch that this is the worst road on this globe. If one can sustain this patch, one can sustain anything

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
