I saw Rory Gallagher play at the Capitol Theater just outside New York City round about 1969ish. Tribute? Is he dead?

Afraid so. Over ten years ago now. He died after a liver transplant in 1995.

Yeah,he's "gone to his home town".
Great event if anyone is heading over here though.
