india back to uk

I`m planning a trip from the uk to india 2010 on 2 enfields, i`m not sure weather to ride or ship the bikes home, would love to ride back but we will be aiming to get back to the uk for the end of feb/start of march 2011 but i`m not sure what weather to expect through pakistan, iran and turkey at that time of year. anyone out there have any idea, most worried about western iran/eastern turkey?

We did a round trip and got back on Saturday, entered eastern Turkey 5th April and on the high passes there was snow on the banks next to the road a foot deep but the roads themselves were clear. It's only a guess but I would say January would be near impassable especially on a loaded road bike with road tyres.
We were going to go through Iraq and Syria until we realised our carnet excluded that route, oops more planning needed on our part ;-) think you'd be OK on that route.

Cheers
Pete

Could be very cold. But then again, it´ll probably depend on the year, so there may not be a definite answer until the time comes.

Went from Europe to India via Turkey & Iran in Oct/Nov 2007, and mostly the weather was pleasant. But the areas around Lake Van, Dogubayazit & Bazargan border were getting chilly. Because of altitude, that area has a severe winter, that lasts for many months.

There was someone stuck in Turkey waiting for visas at that time, and I believe he was also researching to put his bike on a train to Tehran... I dont know more about this, but it could be an option.
