Best way to go trough mexico?

I'm going to panama next year but I'm not sure about mexico.
I'm thinking come by Nogales and go down until guadalajara.
I don't want to pass or enter at DF (periferico restriction, too much traffic) and I want to head as fast as possible to guatemala border.
What is best way from guadalajara and not pass by DF?
Thanks you in advance!

I've just come down through Nogales, along Hwy 15 to as far south as it goes (forget the town), then all the way along the coast on Hwy 200 - very twisty, mountainous roads, but good fun. Not too much traffic. I crossed at Tecum Uman. Watch out for the ripoff "helpers" here, though!

Nogales to GT

To rephrase Lonerider's question - do you have any map at all?
Why, if you really looking for the fastest route to the Guatemala border then on to Panama , are you even going into Guadalajara ?
Mex 15 from Nogales turns inland to Guadalajara just south of Tepic and the simple route to the GT border would be to just carry on along the coast on Mex 200, so avoiding all of the Bajio and any of the scenic mountain highways back down to the coast and to Mex 200 which you eventually will wind taking anyway. Why the big rush. Slow down, enjoy Mexico

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
