Fuel Costs

Hi there

Can anyone help me... I looking to ascertain current Fuel Costs for 50+ Countries, trying to plan a 60,000Km RTW (Thats 150+ Tanks of Gas!)..

Does anyone know were I could find current or best guess fuel prices on the web?

Thanx people

Fletch,
I guess you are working out your fuel costs, I would not put too much effort into this as petrol prices are all over the place and with that and currency fluctuations I would work on a £1 a litre as best guess, and your going to be on the road for sometime so who knows what going to happen in the future.

Anyway 50 countries ATW is going to be nearer 100,000 Km

The prices will vary greatly within just a few miles in certain parts of the US. Here in Yuma, we are on the state line with California. There is a gas station just inside California selling fuel at $3.29/gallon (US) whereas just about 1 1/2 miles away in Arizona, we have gas at $2.85/gallon. Heading west inside California, just at the point where you hit the last gas station (or anything for that matter) for 35 miles, there is a Shell station that sells gas at $3.69/gallon. I can assure you that planning costs for gas will be a near futile exercise!

Steve... I was gonna try a fly over the wet bits! ;o)

So maybe stabbing at a rough 'Average' price per continent might be best compramise...?

Oz $ .90Ltr
Europe $1.60Ltr
Asia $1.00 Ltr
S. America $ .80Ltr
N. America $ .85Ltr

Thanx

Fletch,
I think we should have a sweep stake for how mant Kms you are going to cover on land :)

So how much is your fuel cost going to be then?

Steve

It's like a joke but the highest fuel prices are in Turkey. Approx. 1,5.- 1,6.- Euros (which makes 2.oo - 2.20.- US$). "PER LITRES"

People started sticking "this vehicle runs on the most expensive fuel on earth" signs on their cars.

I am curious as to the mpg, or Km per litre. I sometimes think maybe the gas guzzling nature of modern bikes is overlooked. most bikes from teh sixties did much better in this respect to most of there moden day counterparts. back then 3 gallons was about 200 miles and only endurance racers had 5 gallon tanks.

Using a V Strom, that’s a big mile muncher,
I am going to increase my mileage estimate for your trip up to over 100,000 Kms.

Choose a Honda 50 and you save on fuel because it's so economical and you won't like riding it, and it's slow.

Sorry don't need a flat at the moment, anyway I find my own punctures :)
