Fuel cost estimation for trans-Asia
 

Hello,
I'm at the early stages of planning an overland trip through central Asia. I can't figure out how to estimate fuel costs for the trip. Has anyone been recently and could give me some diesel prices or average cost for the trip? I'm happy to share more details of the proposed route if necessary (Russia and then the stans to China and then south to India).

Diesel costs 20-23 Roubles per litre (45Roubles = GB£1).

Fuel is readily available on all main routes and towns of any size.

The further east you go, and away from main routes, expect to pay the upper end of the range or higher for fuel of less certain quality.
