Thumbs up Free Trip Planner (works offline)

G'day everyone!

As a new member on here, but wide reader of the site, I thought I would give a little something back to this very informative and helpful community.

I made a Trip Planner that is a self-calculating spreadsheet to help plan the daily travels on the road, be it four wheels or two. I've tried to keep it deliberately simple and compact so that it it simple and easy to use on a mobile device.

It is an excellent tool for planning, and then once you are on your travels it is a great way to keep a log of your days.

The spreadsheet is based in Google Docs, and with the Google Drive app installed (available for both Andriod and iOS) can be used on a mobile device offline, updating whenever you choose (or have access to!) the internet, giving you a back up in case you've lost your phone/tablet.

Cavet: I'm about to link to the document, which is open access. If you make a change to this document, you will ruin its usefulness to others. Please respect my work, and if you want to make changes do it in your own copy - and then let me know so I can work it into a new version!

Full instructions are located in the document, which can be accessed here:

Trip Planner

Please, follow the provided instructions carefully to maintain the integrity of the document.

If you would prefer an excel version, Grant is in the process of putting it somewhere on this site. In the mean time, you can shoot an email to owenfidler @ gmail . com.

Happy planning,
Owen

New to Horizons Unlimited?

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
