France and Spain

My wife is off to Perth, Australia for a month from 26th Oct 09 so I am going to my nephew in St Antonin Noble Val and then on to my friend living near Javier, Spain.
Any advice on routes and interesting places to see and things to do would be appreciated. I will be going on the Norfolk Line to Dunkerque because they are the best in my view.

Just wondered what defines best channel crossing in your view?
cheapest?
most convenient ports of departure/entry?
quickest?
most comfortable?
best food?
best hospitality?
Diversion via the Millau bridge is well worth it.

Well it is generally cheaper
Its not the most convenient for me
and a bit longer
Yes comfortable
Good food
They look after you and the bike well.
always get a seat.
Done Millau bridge three times now. Lovely to look at driving over it and as ugly as sin looking up at it. Millau town is nice though and the ride/drive home along the A75 is great going as high as 1100 metres.
