Hello Hamood,
1) the ferry is going from Sharjah to Bandar Abbas.
2) the iran people are very friendly but the paper work to get into iran was horrible.
3) in Iran - Yazd and almost Esfahan have been wonderful places.
(my trip was a round trip - so i have "go back" to Shiraz and Bandar Abbas - back to Sharjah/Dubai..
in 2005 i have done a turkey trip - so i could tell you from that trip you can go both way in Turkey - Van -Diyarbakir - Adana - Konya to Istanbul (or do the mediterrian sea)
or go Dogoubayazit - Erzurum - Trabzon and the Black sea Route.
Both routes are very good to drive, full of wonderful landscapes.
Only be careful around the area of Van, Diyabakir and Dogoubayazit - there are a lot of military controls (but they are very friendly), but a lot of children are throwing stones to foreign people - that is not really funny.
Henning

friends of mine had pass the border from Iran to Turkey and back - and say that this borderpassing was easy.

UAE/Iran Ferry

Some extra info regarding the ferry and the paperwork in Iran would be most helpful.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
