Europe to South Africa and then ... ??
 

Hi,

We are, slowly, planning a rtw overland (4x4) with departure set for september 2006. The first leg of our tour will probably be Africa, since this looks the best time of year to cross it. We plan to take somewhere between 5 and 8 months to get to South Africa, but where to go then?

Australia? SE Asia? South America? ..?

Since our budget is limited (isn't it always? ;-) we'd prefer not to ship our car too often . So I was thinking to ship the car to Asia and drive back to Europe from there. A dream would be to be able to ship to Vladivostok and travel trough China, but that seems to be rather impossible at the moment. I guess shipping to India and travel via the *stan countries is an option... What are the most common shipping options from South Africa?

Is anybody planning/doing a tour like this? Love to hear some ideas and do's/don'ts!
