El salvador to Honduras...anyone try the perquin border

I'm in perquin, going to try the border crossing here instead of on the pan american..... anyone been here before?

We are in El Salvador and wondering the same thing. We have been riding for a couple of days with 2 locals from San Salvador. Both of them have told us that it is possible to cross, but you cannot get the proper paperwork from Honduras for the bikes at this crossing. I believe there is a previous post from a few months ago from someone who did cross there, but do not know of any followup. I will be interested in what you find out.
