Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events such as this one (18 this year!); we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, the HUBB or
to receive the e-zine. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and

Driving the Karakorumn and Shipping from India to Madagascar or South Africa
My wife and I are planning a trip by Landcruiser to India via China and back through Africa in 2014/15. Does anyone have any experience of shipping from India, preferably to Madagascar?
Plan to start around May 2014 and be back the following May or June and will eventually be looking for others to travel through China. The plan is to go via the Karakorum so the start will be planned to arrive here at the optimum time. Does anyone have any recent experience of travelling the Karakorum, if/when it is open and what difficulties were experienced?
We spent 7 months driving to Mongolia via Siberia and back through the Stans in 2012 so we have some travel experience.
