Did Bing Maps get crazy?

Over the past years I've always been using Bing Maps to calculate my itineraries, with success.
Lately, it seems that this "system" got nuts: I tried many times to calculate the directions from Trabzon (Turkey) to Tbilisi (Georgia) and this is the result :eek3::

Bing Maps=

Directions from Istanbul to Teheran: Bing Maps=

Do you guys have an idea why I should tour the globe to reach those two places from Turkey?
I never changed any settings, but these are the results I obtained in the last days, so I don't think it's a temporary problem of Bing's calculator.

In case, do you know some other online pages to see directions and riding times in Asia?
I saw that Google Maps don't show them for all the places in Asia like Bing used to do up to some days ago...

Thanks to everybody!

I can only assume that Bing has some concern about crossing certain political borders.

Google seems to work fine for the west but does not have much in the way of mapping of the former eastern european (and soviet) states.

As such, it can't navigate your from Trabzon to Tbilisi but Istanbul to Teheran Istanbul Province, Turkey to Tehran, Iran - Google Maps is good.

The only other suggestion is to use your GPS, which even using Garmin world maps, provides acceptable distance information.

This could be true, but if you enquire for directions from Baku (Azerbaijan) to Yerevan (Armenia) Bing Maps calculates them letting you pass thru the border between the two Countries, but this is impossible, because these borders are closed.
What's more, this problem has showed up only 10 days ago, cuz I remember well that up to one month ago I could get all the infos I wanted regarding directions from Turkey to Georgia.
I really don't know what may have happened...

The link of Google Maps you provided lets me go from Istanbul to Teheran passing thru Armenia, but the borders between Turkey and Armenia are also closed.
I wonder why it does not let me go from Istanbul to Teheran thru Dogubayazit and Tabriz which is the most logical way....

In other words... IT'S A MESS!!

They would be if my boss would allow me unlimited holidays, not only three weeks... :mchappy:
