Crazy european Capitol-Trip, knowledge wanted!

me and my wife Tanja planning a……, ah….- call it a stupidhttp://s3.amazonaws.com/advrider/shog.gif, funny:thumbup1:, crazy:D - tour in february 2009. For a few more details: www.enduroreisende.de (only german, sorry)

So, what we like to get is Insider- Knowledge from residents of the following european capitols. These are the most important facts for us:

a) Only houses with closed roofs, please!:innocent:
b) Cheap Rooms (max. 50 €/night)
c) Close to the capitols landmark
d) Safe parking for the bike
e) Exact adress of the accomodation with street, ZIP-Code or coordinates. That makes the navigation much more easy, because - I suppose - that we’ll arrive mostly in the dark,……………and we use a GPS.

These are the cities we plan to stay for one or max. up to three nights:
-> somewhere near to Mömlingen, Aschaffenburg / Darmstadt (Germany)
-> Brussels (Belgium)
-> Budapest (Hungaria)
-> Amsterdam (Netherlands)
-> Vienna (Austria)
-> Berlin (Germany)
-> Prague (Czech Republic)

Sounds like a nice trip. I did something similar in August this year and went across Germany through Poland, Slovakia,Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania, Bulgraia and then headed home through Slovenia and Austria. Most of the countries i stayed in the capitol cities and always found backpaker hostels the best option. My favourite was the Yha in Kassel, Germany. In Hungary try the Fortuna hotel its cheap and has safe parking. It is also in the city centre.

i saved a heap of money by couch surfing. this may sound crazy but it was great and a good way to meet a lot of ncie people even if some of them were a bit crazy

basically you go to CouchSurfing - Participate in Creating a Better World, One Couch At A Time and people let you sleep on thier couches.

I am a member of Couchsurfers and was hosted in Normandy in the summer. I can recommend Couchsurfers. There are also a few motorbike groups on Couchsurfers.

Hospitality club is another one.

F1 and ETAP hotel chains do very cheap hotel rooms as well.

@mblack: The Fortuna Hotel in Hungary, was it in Budapest? Do you have some more informations about the hotel (adress, homepage, coordinates meaby)??? This would be very helpful:D

with EnGrande* you can call them up and speak to someone. they have about 20-odd fluent languages between them, so you should be fine with German.

They know their hotel owners in each country, so it may be worth a call and ask someone to help you out with bookings. Especially if you're city-hopping. They can probably recommend (or find out) which places have secure parking.

The places are not all €30, but that's the general aim of the accommodation.
