Caspian see ferry

We are planning trip for next spring/summer. We will be crossing from Turkey to Iran and we are now discussing to either go around Caspian see in iran to Turkmenistan or to go to Azerbaian and cross Caspian see via ferry from Baku. Do you have anyone exps. with it?

thanks a lot

Hello,
Current information.
This summer, all bikers ı met at the club entered Turkmenistan from mashad..Also its very hard and expensive to enter Azerbeycan by bike.
More than them preferred georgia to Russia then to stans.
(If your destination is China, this way less visa needed)

Be careful about Turkmen visa. They usually give it 5 days transit..

Best Wishes

Thanks...ferry looks like fun for me, Mashab much more easier...I will see if I can find anyone who did the ferry

yes the plan is (was) to go to China and than Laos and Thailand....but with all the costs and restrictions in China we are now reconsidering to do the Stans and then continue to Mongolia and Siberia to Vladivostok. We are flexible in terms of destination....hit the road is the main goal

The ferry takes about three days and you cannot book ahead. If you have time, why not
