I'm far from my maps, but if you're asking about the main road into town, it's paved and fine for whatever your ride. There are other roads, some listed as pistes on the Michelin, but I was told that these were fine as well (didn't get to check them out personally).

I stayed at Hotel France, which was otherwise empty of tourists. Food there was pretty basic, pricing negotiable if this is done in advance when you've still got leverage. Parking was "secured" by a guard with a taste for date wine (which, on the plus side, he was entirely willing to share) Lots of "guides" hanging around waiting for springtime and the return of the Europeans with their susceptibility to all the usual low-key scams.

I liked the falls and the surrounding area. Several hotels. Lots of trekking and camping possibilities once warmer weather arrives, but apparently lots of tourists as well. Lots of paved twisties and unpaved tracks for your motorcycling pleasure.

Hope that helps.

Mark

Hi Chris

We stayed there last year and we also stayed in the Hotel France it is about the best bet for the area if you go past the falls and over the little bridge into the village then turn left down what looks like the market place the Hotel France is down there
And yes its well worth a stop if you are going to eat there walk down to the falls (you don’t need a guide) there are lots of small cafes overlooking the falls and you can even have a swim in the river to cool down

I have given my Morocco map to a mate but yes you can get there on a road bike and it’s only a few hours from Marrakech

We did it in an easy day from Azrou and stayed for an extra day because we liked it so much then left there and was in Marrakech for mid morning the next day

Just to let you know there are no cash pionts at the falls I had to drive about 30 km to get cash to pay the bill :eek3:

Have a good trip here are our photos

This is on the way there we went the back way past a big lake and dam cant remember the name of it but it was bloody hot in that valley I had to stop and let the bike cool down at the top of the hill as it was making some funny noises

I was there in October. The road from the R304 (South of the Cascades - Demnate to Azilal) is well paved, although there was a lot of gravel washed onto it from rain and an extensive length of roadworks leaving sand all over the place. I don't know about the road leaving to the North of the Cascades.

I arrived late at night and accepted the services of a guide who took me to the Hotel des Cascades (bear left when you reach the end of the road into the village). Basic hippy / travellers place - camp on the roof or a very basic but clean room - 150dh/room per night. Food's reasonable too. But too basic for my wife so we moved to the Hotel France and it is fine, if a little isolated and quiet. One day it will be a superb place.

I passed through in September and all the roads are well paved...great for a sports bike.I stayed in Hotel France too and thought it was a piss hole.Slept on the bed fully clothed because the bed was filthy. No restaurant...was told before hand there was food but once we paid first...at the insistance of the receptionist....was told restaurant was closed.Bathroom stunk too.To be honest it was the worst hotel i have ever stayed in...i wished i had stayed in the Riad. The cascades were nice....should be more water falling this time of year so even better.

we are heading down that way this year, your info is great, we will not book in at the ugly bug hotel:thumbup1:
Are there any other water falls not as frequented, that deserve a look in the same area?
Unpaved roads not a problem, but not extreme, thanks, Pete
