Cape Town to Stavanger, Norway 2009

Adventures!

Currently planning the trip. Wonder if the route would be OK if reversed from the "Long Way Down" team. April 02. to June 10. Will not rush it, have 10 weeks. Could do "long haul" day trips but also with some kind of "tourist affect". Would like to experience the countries. Camping outside is planned.
Would that route be OK or should I concentrate on different countries? What about visas and permits? Petrol stops, any problems? I have a 33 liters tank on my GSA. Usage is about 0,57 liter pr. 10 km.
I figured out that the trip would be somewhere between 15000 to 16000 km.

It’s a very nice route, maybe the best there is. 10 weeks is pushing it, hard!
The distance might be a bit longer then you estimated, for me it was 50kkm (Oslo – Cape Town – Oslo) and I used a year.

If you want to read about someone who drove it faster then 10 weeks, look here: High Performance Riding
