camping in ladakh?
Hello,
Mid june me and my girlfriend are going wtih an enfield form delhi to leh. We're thinking about bringing a tent and sleepingbag. Is this wise and nice or just extra weight. thanks, Koen

we camped on the way up but really you dont need to. There is a 'tent city' half way up if you want to sleep in a tent without taking one yourself. Having said that, we really did enjoy being in our tent and eating instant noodles.

Rough Idea
Hi there,
Sory to jump on this thread, but I have only just started turning my attention to India after changing our route a little bit recently. Ladakh looks great, but I can't (quickley) find any information on how and when to get there. Just as a rough guide can you tell me: 1. Can I get there via India and do I need any special permits? 2. When is a good and not so good time to go? we hope to arrive just after the monsoon, Octoberish, be we intend to stay for a few months, including doing a bit of nepal. Really grateful for these quick tips. I will hit my guide books at the weekend, we I get home. Thanks Ollie
