Border Crossings on Thailand, Laos and Cambodia

Checking to see if anyone has had any recent experience with following border crossings:

* Dom Kralor, Cambodia / Voen Kham, Laos
* Poipet, Cambodia / Aranya Prathet, Thailand
* Huay Xai, Loas / Chiang Khong

We will be crossing them over the next 6 weeks and have not heard of any issues.

Thx

Robb

Hi, stay away from Poipet unless your papaer work is 100% + carnet, instead use any of the others Poipet = shake down.... at least it was last year.

What Juddadred said. Poipet is an armpit inhabited by criminals. I would advise anyone to stay away.

consider poipet binned

thanks for the advice. Bike is carneted but will find a more savory crossing. Thx guys.

I thought neither country uses the carnet?

You don't need one but looking at his destinations I would have put money on him having one, if you want to get through Poipet without getting ripped off your paper work has to be spotless, so everything must match 100% inc. Carnet if you have one.

I went out through Hatlek over the mountian which was fun, and came in through Laos so didn't have to do the PP route.
