Best route - UK to Milan
 

Evening everyone,

We're finally heading off on the big trip on monday morning with Milan our first destination. I've normally done this route in the summer when the passes are a great route down, however, I'm guessing alot of the passes are going to be closed or subject to poor weather at this time of year.

Is this the case? What routes would people suggest? I've heard Gotthard tunnel is a quick (and free) way to cross but do people have a better suggestion?

For a fast ride I would drive like this...
From Calais I would go Fastest to Reims then shortest to Vitry-le-Francois then Shortest to Geneva.
Then A43 Tunnel Du Fréjus / Traforo Del Frejus -> A32 to Torino then A4 to Milan.
